UMTS Full Name is Universal Mobile Telecommunications System. It is up to 2 megabit per second on a third generation broadband, packet based transmission of text, digital voice, video and multimedia data rate. UMTS provides a consistent set of services for mobile computers and phone users, even if they are in the world based on the Global System for UMTS Mobile Communications Standards. It also supports support by major standard bodies and manufacturers as a planned standard for mobile users around the world.
